GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - A proposal to build a light rail transit line in the west and north metro is one step closer to reality.
The Golden Valley City Council voted to approve the plan Tuesday night.
The proposal calls for a fourth light rail line to run from Minneapolis to Brooklyn Park, mostly along Bottineau Boulevard.
Neighbors are concerned the rail line traffic and construction will disturb the makeup of their neighborhood. But supporters say the other option would force about 100 homes to be removed.
