GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- A fresh coating of snowfall has begun in part of the southern half of Minnesota Thursday night and it will continue into early Friday.
A disturbance moving out of Nebraska is spreading snow showers across the region through the day with the first light snow bands reaching the metro after dark Thursday. We'll see light snow through the night Thursday night of the light, fluffy variety.
In the metro we'll end up with 1-3" of accumulation through Friday when the light snow will taper to on/off flurries through the day. The more significant amounts will be southwest Minnesota where as much as 3-5" of fluff could fall.
A Winter Weather Advisory is posted for places such as Mankato and points southwest of there for the potential of 3" or more. Along with the light snow, we'll see milder temperatures in the low 20s for highs through the weekend.
