BIG LAKE TOWNSHIP, Minn. - A Fridley man was killed Thursday morning in 3-vehicle crash on County Road 15 in Big Lake Township, according to Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott.
The accident occurred just before 10 a.m. near the intersection of 211th Avenue and County 15.
Ronald Talbot, 48, of Fridley, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the drivers of the other two involved vehicles, Blane Travis, 52, and his spouse Donna Travis, 54, both of Elk River, sustained what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said that Talbot was traveling north on 15 while Blane and Donna Travis were both driving their vehicles southbound. The vehicles driven by Talbot and Blane Travis struck each other head on before Talbot's SUV made secondary contact with the SUV driven by Donna Travis, authorities said.
Donna Travis was airlifted to North Memorial while Blane Travis was taken by ambulance to New River Hospital. The sheriff's office was assisted by the Elk River Police and Big lake Fire Departments. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
