PRIOR LAKE, Minn. - Ryan Hoffman and Nikki Hering of Dayton, Minnesota picked one of the coldest days of the year for one of their warmest memories. They married Tuesday at 3 p.m. outside of the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club.
"Well, actually, it all started, Ryan and I officially started dating on the first of the year and he proposed on the first of the year, so we stuck with the first and we do not have to remember any other dates. So, hopefully, that's a good thing for him and me," said Nikki.
"That is kind of what we got as a reaction from a lot of people when we told them 'outdoor ceremony, January 1st'. They were like: really?" chuckled Ryan.
They invited more than a hundred guests who huddled under blankets while the couple exchanged traditional vows in the most untraditional climate.
Ryan is Lead Technician for an Eden Prairie firm, while Nikki is a Pre-press technician for a local printer.
