BLACKDUCK, Minn. - Investigators in north central Minnesota hope that a surveillance image will generate tips that will help lead to the arrest of a man who robbed a hotel.

Deputies were called to the Americinn on Brandi Drive Northwest in Blackduck shortly before 7:30 p.m. New Years Eve on reports of a robbery that had just occured.

Witnesses say a man, described as being in his early 20s, walked into the lobby of the motel and demanded cash. He kept his hands in his pockets while the clerk collected and handed over an undetermined amount of cash, then fled on foot in the direction of the Blackduck American Legion.

At this point it is unclear whether he was armed.

The suspect is described as being about 6 feet tall with a deep voice. He was wearing a light grey hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a bright orange mask.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or knows anything about the robbery is asked to call 218-333-9111.
