MINNEAPOLIS - Three men face first-degree riot charges in connection to a murder that occurred outside a Lake Street bar in Minneapolis in late December.
The Hennepin County Attorney's Office says Demarcus Quilling(center), 27, of St. Paul, Tavaris McDaniel (right), 28, of St. Paul and Renaldo McDaniel (left), 28, were each charged within the last week.
According to the criminal complaint, early on Dec. 20, police were sent to the Hennepin County Medical Center where they found one man with a gunshot wound to his hand and another to his head.
The shooting occurred outside Champions Bar on Lake Street, police said.
Police said surveillance video shows Quilling and the McDaniels cousins leaving the bar and getting into a white SUV parked on Lake Street. The video then showed the victim walking up to the SUV, and a very short time later, running from the SUV, police said.
The victim ran back to a car, the driver of the SUV then pulled up alongside the driver's side of the car and the front seat passenger started shooting at the car, according to the complaint. The driver of the car sped away, and the SUV followed, chasing the car for 25 blocks, police said.
Three days after the shooting, the victim died from his wounds.
The investigation into the homicide continues. All three men are being held on $300,000 cash bail.
