MINNEAPOLIS - An Uptown restaurant is going above and beyond to help those displaced by a massive fire at a Minneapolis condo building December 28.
Amore Victoria Restaurant is holding a benefit Wednesday night and will donate 100% of it's proceeds to the victims from 6 p.m. and midnight. They are also holding a silent auction until 10 p.m. Restaurant owner Jenna Victoria estimates over 100 businesses have contributed to the silent auction. "It's been overwhelming. It's been amazing. I can't even begin to tell you how many e-mails and phone calls I've received. I have trouble even getting back to these people because there's so many people that want to help," Victoria says.
Fire officials say candles are to blame for the fire that destroyed the 100 year old condo building on West Lake Street. Victoria estimates that 20 people have been displaced.
A fund has also been created at Wells Fargo Bank where you can make donations to victims.
