MINNEAPOLIS - A great year for outdoor ice has taken a precipitous turn, thanks to steady rain and temperatures above freezing.
On Friday the city of Minneapolis announced that all the outdoor city ice rinks are now closed, at least temporarily, due to the unseasonable conditions.
The rinks will be reopened as soon as weather allows. Those wishing to check on the status of their rink or park can log on to a special page on the city's website.
