PLYMOUTH, Minn. - Police say a 67-year-old Centerville woman is being treated for frostbite after being rescued Saturday after her car drove off the road into a pond on Friday night.
Administrative Sgt. Russell Blanck says the woman had left her Centerville home around 6 p.m. Friday evening to drive to an event at the Marriot Hotel in St. Louis Park.
When she didn't arrive, her husband called authorities and filed the report. He told police that his wife suffered from a serious medical condition that requires regular medication.
The incident happened at 10th Avenue and Revere Lane in Plymouth. Sgt. Joe Gebhardt says a bicyclist was riding on a small path along 10th Avenue on Saturday morning when he noticed the car. He stopped and called 911.
The woman was taken to North Memorial. Her condition is unknown, though she was conscious and alert when paramedics rescued her. She has been transferred to HCMC.
The woman was the subject of a missing persons report that was filed on Friday evening with the Centennial Lakes Police Department.
