ST. PAUL, Minn. - Interstate I-35E is open again following a  multi-car pileup  in St. Paul that completely shut down northbound lanes of the freeway during Tuesday morning's rush hour.

The crash involved a handful of vehicles that got tangled and blocked all 3 lanes of the freeway. It took emergency vehicles some time to weave their way through the maze of vehicles to get to those involved in the crash. MnDOT cameras showed traffic stacked up for miles on the busy interstate.

Reports indicated there was severe icing in the area.

State Patrol spokesman Lt. Eric Roeske said despite the number of vehicles involved it appears there are no serious injuries associated with the pileup.

A wrecker hauled the last damaged car off shortly after 8:45 a.m. and I-35E reopened to traffic.
