SAINT PAUL - Since 1982 the St. Paul Winter Carnival Vulcan have been putting on the snow sculpting competition. That's why last year's cancellation due to unseasonably warm weather was such a disappointment. The competition is back on this year thanks to snow making machines donated by Green Acres Recreation.
The machines started producing snow on Monday at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds and will continue over the next few days. The snow is then molded into 8' by 8' by 8' blocks that will then be transformed into works of art.
The snow sculpting competition begins next Friday, January 25 and will continue through Sunday, January 27th. It's not too late to be on a team. To register online click here.
