SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Tens of thousands of visitors are expected to descend on Saint Paul next Thursday and thanks to the city's convention and visitors bureau they'll have a road map to help them navigate the fun.
Visit Saint Paul is announcing the launch of a special website to assist both out-of-towners and hometown fans fired up to immerse themselves in the Crashed Ice experience.
The website includes information on hotel specials, schedules, the course, parking/shuttles and special events happening around the city as part of the three-day event.
While a majority of the information on the site is provided by the bureau's membership base, it also links to pertinent information on the city of Saint Paul website and the Red Bull Crashed Ice event website. The information is available in standard and mobile formats so visitors can use it both while planning their trip to Saint Paul and while they are here on the ground using smart phones.
"We are incredibly excited to have this event back in Saint Paul and to assist with this website," said Karolyn Kirchgesler, President & CEO of Visit Saint Paul. "An event of this magnitude really energizes the city and we want to connect these new visitors directly with our great collection of hotels, bars/restaurants and attractions."
An increasing nuimber of businesses are trying to tap into this year's event, noting that last year's Crashed Ice attracted an estimated 80,000 people to the Saintly city. For example, Eagle Street Grille is hosting the Official Warming Tent of the event across the street from the Xcel Energy Center with DJ and live music, beverages and heat.
