ST. PAUL - Instead of cursing these cold temperatures, why not celebrate them?
That's the motto for the St. Paul Winter Carnival, which kicks off for the 127th year on Thursday.
A jam packed schedule of events will take place through February 3rd in Rice Park and also at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
The always popular ice carving competition starts 9 a.m. Thursday in Rice Park. After being cancelled last year because of mild weather, the snow sculpting contest is back in 2013 also and begins Friday at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
KARE 11's Bryan Piatt spent the morning in Rice Park scoping out the activities, hanging with St. Paul Winter Carnival royalty and even bouncing with the St. Paul Bouncing Team.
KARE 11 News Saturday will be live in Rice Park as part of a live from Crashed Ice show on Saturday January 26.
