MARSHAN TOWNSHIP, Minn. -  Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom announced that no criminal charges will be filed in connection with the traffic crash on September 6, 2012 in Marshan Township, Dakota County which resulted in the death of a teenager.

Madeline Rose Sake, 16, died after deputies said her car collided with another vehicle back in September.

The three occupants of that other vehicle, a pickup truck, were Madeline's friends.

None of them were seriously injured.

A State Patrol investigation found indications that the driver of the pickup tried to avoid the crash and there was no use of drugs, alcohol or cell phones.

Backstrom expressed his sympathy to the family and friends of Madeline Sake for their great loss and his hope that the others injured in this crash can recover from their injuries and the trauma associated with the accident.
