Former Vikings player elected to Hall of Fame

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Former Vikings wide receiver Cris Carter was elected Saturday to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Carter was elected by the Hall's Board of Selectors. He joins eleven former Vikings players who have also earned the prestigious honor.

The class of 2013 is comprised of six former players and a coach. Other than Carter, the players are Larry Allen, Curley Culp, Warren Saap, Jonathan Ogden and Dave Robinson. The coach is Bill Parcells. Culp and Robinson were senior selections.

The induction ceremony in the Canton, Ohio, shrine will take place August 3.
