GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - President Obama visits Minneapolis on Monday. His visit commes at the same time state and local leaders discuss ways to reduce gun-related incidents.
Gun violence is an issue that hits home for us following last year's deadly mass shooting at Accent Signage in North Minneapolis.
Local leaders, including Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek have also traveled recently to Washington D.C. lately to meet with the President and his gun violence task force, weighing in on the steps Minnesota is taking already to combat gun violence.
Minneapolis Mayor RT Rybak joined KARE 11 Sunrise to talk about what he hopes to hear from the President during Monday's event.
