GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Stretch that back and get the snow shovel polished up - there's more snow on the way.

A fast moving Alberta Clipper is heading toward Minnesota during the day Wednesday, promising to drop a fresh blanket of precip on us Wednesday night into early Thursday.

We'll be mild & dry most of the daylight hours Wednesday with temps back up above freezing but  clouds will thicken and shortly after dark (sunset is 5:39 PM) we could start to see the first snow showers push into the metro.

Expect 1 to 2 inches of fresh snow overnight into the early to mid morning hours and anticipate a likely slower commute Thursday morning. Portions of central Minnesota could see up to 2 to 3 inches.

Behind that clipper colder air will be drawn in, but not as bad as previous arctic blasts. Temps will be in the teens for highs just Friday & Saturday with lows near zero and back into the 20s to near 30 by Sunday-Monday.
