SPRING LAKE PARK, Minn. - Fire investigators are looking into the cause of a fire that heavily damaged a townhome in Spring Lake Park overnight.

Crews were called to a townhome on the 1300 block of Crown Oaks Drive just before 11 p.m. Sunday night. Initial calls indicated some sort of explosion from a garage area. When engines arrived they found the townhome ablaze.

Video from the scene shows a gutted garage and a charred SUV at the center of the damage. The home was one of eight townhomes in the complex. Others suffered minor smoke and water damage.

Fire officials tell KARE 11 there was at least one person inside the home when the fire started but he or she got out safely. At this time investigators do not think the fire is suspicious.
