NEAR BARNSVILLE, Minn. - The Minnesota State Patrol has named two Minnetonka residents as the victims of Monday's blizzard-related crash on Interstate 94 near Barnsville in northwestern Minnesota.
Investigators say 49-year-old driver Judith Reid and 49-year-old Sean Ray, both of Minnetonka, were killed when Reid tried to pass between a semi-trailer truck and a snowplow that was clearing the right lane and the ditch.
Reid's vehicle made contact with both trucks, and then was struck by a pickup.
Evan Ray, Sean Ray's16-year-old son, suffered serious injuries and is being treated at a Fargo hospital. The driver of the pickup suffered minor injuries, while the two men driving the semi and MnDOT plow truck were unhurt.
