Officer's funeral to trigger street closures in St. Paul Friday

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The procession and funeral of fallen Saint Paul Police Officer Josh Lynaugh will trigger street closures Friday that will impact thousands of motorists.  

Beginning at 6 a.m. Friday and lasting through 1 p.m. the following closures will be in place.

  • Summit Avenue will be closed between Western Ave. N. and Marshall Avenue
  • Selby Avenue will be closed between Western Ave. N. and Summit Avenue
  • Dayton Avenue will be closed between N. Farrington Street and Summit Avenue

Exceptions will be made for local residents and students and staff of Saint Paul College who may need access to the school's parking lots.:

Lynaugh died last week after he suffered a heart attack while chasing a suspect on foot. His visitation is scheduled for Thursday night at the Mueller Parkway Chapel, 835 Johnson Parkway, Saint Paul, MN 55106. Those wishing to pay their condolences can stop by betweem 3 and 9 p.m.

The funeral for the fallen officer will take place Friday at the Cathedral of Saint Paul, 239 Selby Ave. Saint Paul, MN 55102. Services begin at 10 a.m.
