GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Playing any sport comes with risks, especially for young athletes.
In fact, a report finds that 34 student athletes died last year from a sports-related injury.
There were also 400-thousand concussions reported during the 2008-2009 school year.
Experts say preventing those issues is key, and that's the goal of a free sports medicine clinic for parents and coaches on Wednesday at Twin Cities Orthopedics.
Dr. Greg Lervick is with Twin Cities Orthopedics was on KARE11 Sunrise to talk about the clinic.
The clinic is Wednesday, February 27 at Twin Cities Orthopedics in Edina. It's free, but you do need to register ahead of time.
