ST. PAUL, Minn. - St. Paul Police have made an arrest in the case of a missing woman last seen Thursday night.
Investigators say Jeffery Trevino was arrested on a homicide charge on Monday. He is the husband of Kira Trevino, the missing 30-year-old from the eastside of St. Paul. Police say her body has not been found.
"I'm not going to elaborate on that at this time," said Sgt. Paul Paulos. "It is part of the investigation. Homicide does deal with missing people and there is enough evidence at the scene to come up with that charge of probable cause homicide."
On Wednesday, police presented its findings to the Ramsey County Attorney's Office. They are currently reviewing the charges.
Police say evidence of a crime was found at the couple's home in St. Paul and in the woman's vehicle that was discovered on Saturday at the Mall of America in Bloomington.
Jeffery Trevino has been booked into the Ramsey County jail. His current hold expires at 10 a.m. on Thursday. There are currently no plans to file an extension, officials say.
The missing woman's family, from Wisconsin and Texas, arrived Monday morning and immediately began searching for answers. On Monday, they met with investigators and on Tuesday they spent time talking to people at the Mall of America, hoping someone had the information police are still seeking.
"We met a lot of wonderful people who know Kira. She's been at this mall for a very long time. I had no idea she had this many friends and its very heartwarming," Jodie Kelch, Kira's aunt, told KARE 11.
Police are still looking for more information from the public. Anyone with information that detectives might need are urged to call the St. Paul Police Dept. at 651-266-5650.
