MINNEAPOLIS - Trevor Mbakwe and Rodney Williams are about to play their last home game for Minnesota.
The Gophers host Penn State on Saturday, the final time Mbakwe and Williams will take the raised floor in front of the maroon-and-gold-clad fans. They've each endured plenty of stress and struggles during their time together at Minnesota, but the two forwards are at least in position to finish strong.
They're still reveling in the victory over top-ranked on Indiana on Tuesday, when the crowd rushed the court in celebration.
Mbakwe and Williams are both pro prospects, but they're not done with their college careers yet. Winning their first NCAA tournament game is still a passionately sought-after goal, and the Gophers have designs on more than that.
