LOS ANGELES - Octomom is in trouble. Again.
The L.A. County Department of Welfare Fraud Prevention and Investigation is investigating whether the mother of 14 may have committed welfare fraud, according to reports from both E! and TMZ.
"I can confirm that the authorities have been in contact with us concerning her income and we have been cooperating," an unnamed source tells E!
TMZ is reporting that a complaint was filed about Nadya Suleman collecting welfare benefits including food stamps, even though she made somewhere around $200,000 last year, doing her porn video and other publicity gigs.
But under California law, she is only entitled to government assistance if she makes less than $119,000, reports E! If law enforcement brings a case, and Suleman is convicted, she risks going to jail for as many as three years.
Meanwhile, look for Suleman on tonight's episode of Oprah's Where Are They Now?, which takes a look at Octomom, Dennis Rodman and Gennifer Flowers. The show airs on OWN at 10 p.m.
