Axel's traditional Easter Brunch french toast

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Here's a festive Easter treat straight from the Chef at Axel's. It's will soon become a often requested dish at your home, too.

Axel's French Toast
Chef Mo Moore
Yield = enough for 4-6 people

12 each Eggs
½ cup Sugar
1 Tbls Cinnamon
2 Tbls Vanilla Extract
½ Tbls Ground Ginger
½ cup Grand Marnier
½ cup Heavy Whipping Cream
12 slices Texas Toast
2 Tbls Butter

• Heat sauté pan over medium heat
• Crack eggs in a large mixing bowl
• Add remaining ingredients and whisk until fully combined and slightly thickened
• Place butter in sauté pan and allow to melt
• Dip bread slices into batter - one piece at a time - and allow batter to soak into the bread for about 10 seconds
• Arrange in sauté pan
• Cook until golden brown - about 1 ½ minutes
• Flip over and continue to cook until golden brown
• Remove from pan and place on serving plate
• Garnish per your desires with powdered sugar, butter, syrup, agave nectar, fresh fruit, or whatever your taste buds crave...
