WAYZATA, Minn. - Getting your street sweeper stuck on train tracks is a bad way to start the day.
Getting it stuck with a train approaching? Epic fail.
A maintinenance worker can consider himself lucky after surviving a collision with a train in downtown Wayzata Wednesday morning.
Police tell KARE 11 that the driver was cleaning the street around 6:15 a.m. when the sweeper became stuck on the crossing at the intersection of Lake Street and Grove Lane near the Depot.
The train was moving through downtown Wayzata at slow speed but was still unable to stop. The collision pushed the street sweeper an estimated 30 or 40 yards down the tracks.
Fortunately, the driver of the street sweeper was not injured.
