MINNEAPOLIS - Minneapolis police are asking for the public's help to find a murder suspect.
Police say 45-year-old Jimmie Ray Herron got in a fight outside Denny's in Minneapolis on March 4. He died a few hours later at HCMC.
Authorities say the assault on Herron was a factor that lead to cardiac arrest, so his death is now considered a homicide.
"The victim is truly a victim in this case. It wasn't a mutual combatant," said Minneapolis Police Lt. Richard Zimmerman, "The victim was beaten to death, and that's why we need the public's help to find out what the motive was and to find out who the suspect is."
The assault happened outside the Denny's at 2700 E. Lake Street on Monday March 4 just before 1 p.m.
If anyone saw anything that might help the investigation call the TIPS Line at 612-692-TIPS (8477).
