COLUMBUS, Minn. - Investigators are following leads in an apparent murder after the discovery of a body in northern Anoka County.
Anoka County Sheriff's spokesman Commander Paul Sommer says deputies were called to a cul-de-sac off of Camp 3 Road west of Zodiac Street Northeast in the City of Columbus just after 9:30 p.m. Monday. When squads arrived they found a man's lifeless body laying near a vehicle.
Sommer says foul play is suspected and that the case is being pursued as a homicide. He did not elaborate on the man's cause of death.
The victim is a 50-year-old Asian male with a last known address of St. Paul, MN. The vehicle he was found next to was registered to the victim. At this point Sommer says the man has no known association with the neighborhood.
Anyone with information on the Anoka County death or the victim is asked to call the Anoka County Sheriff's Office at (763)427-1212.
