GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - This year marks the 50th anniversary of the start of the Vietnam War, and the Minnesota Twins are making sure our veterans are honored.

They've teamed-up with the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) to give more than 30 Minnesota Vietnam veterans a chance to raise the American Flag at the start of various games throughout the season.

MDVA had a strong response from Vietnam veterans around the state, and all the spots for flag raising during the 2013 season are now filled. Thanks to all Vietnam veterans for their service.

It all begins Wednesday, April 3, with Minnesota's Veterans Affairs commissioner and Vietnam veteran Larry Shellito, who's joined KARE 11 Sunrise to talk about the honor.
