BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. -- A motorcyclist is dead after allegedly running a red light and colliding with another vehicle Sunday night.
The State Patrol says the accident happened around 6 p.m. on Brooklyn Boulevard.
Authorities say a 23-year-old Tyron Somaiah of Crystal was riding his motorcycle northbound on Brooklyn Boulevard when he ran a red light at Welcome Avenue and struck a car in the intersection.
Somaiah died at the scene. The driver of the car, a 57-year-old Brooklyn Center woman, was taken to North Memorial Medical Center with minor injuries.
The victim's name has not been released.
