SEATTLE -- The Seattle Seahawks continued their run of defensive acquisitions this offseason when they agreed to terms on Friday with Antoine Winfield.

The former Minnesota Vikings cornerback will sign a one-year deal with the Seahawks, Winfield's agent Ashanti Webb told USA TODAY Sports. Financial terms of the agreement were not immediately available.

Winfield, 35, visited the Seahawks earlier this week after meeting with the Washington Redskins and talking to the Vikings, who cut him last month but were interested in bringing back the three-time All-Pro selection at a lower rate than the $7.25 million he was owed.

"I'm definitely excited about the opportunity to play in Seattle. They're a great football team," Winfield told ESPN. "Those guys did an excellent job last season. They're young, athletic and energetic."

Winfield joins cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner to form one of the best trios in the league right now. Plus, the Seahawks added to their pass rush and run defense this offseason by signing defensive ends Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett to one-year deals.

On the other side of the ball, Seattle brought in former Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin via a trade. This week, they signed quarterback Brady Quinn to back up Russell Wilson.
