SHAKOPEE - A suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left one man dead and wounded two others Thursday night in Shakopee.
Officers were called to the Hunters Ridge Apartments in Shakopee around 10:45 Thursday night. Inside the apartment they found three victims, one of whom died from a gunshot injury.
Police are still looking for two others suspects involved in the shooting.
Police say the man who died, 19-year-old Marcos Antino Pantaleon of Shakopee, was dead at the scene.
Pantaleon was a student at Shakopee High School. "Friends describe him as a student with lots of personal pride," said Shakopee High School Principal Kim Swift. "He had planned to attend college and become an auto mechanic."
There were five other people in the apartment at the time. Pantaleon's 22-year-old brother and 17-year-old male cousin were wounded and taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. Police say the others were uninjured.
Pantaleon's family has established a memorial fund in his honor. Anyone who would like to donate to the Marcos Memorial Fund can go to any Wells Fargo Bank branch and indicate they would like to donate to the fund, which is under the name Brenda H. Rivera.
