MINNEAPOLIS - The city of Minneapolis chose Earth Day to resume the delivery of new blue recycling carts to residents.
The carts are part of the new one-sort recycling program, allowing recyclable materials to go into one cart instead of being sorted.
The 75,000 recycling customers who didn't get a cart last fall will get theirs by the end of June, city officials said.
Recycling customers will stay on the same schedule and keep the same recycling day as before.
On Monday, Mayor R.T. Rybak and council member Sandy Colvin Roy delivered a one-sort recycling cart to a Minneapolis home on East Minnehaha Parkway to help raise awareness about the project.
