GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Our latest April snowstorm brought just 3.5 inches of fresh snow officially at the airport overnight Monday night bringing our April snowfall total to 17.6 inches of snow making it the third snowiest April on record.

That's just 4.2 inches away from the number one spot set back in April of 1983. Duluth saw another 6 to 10 inches of snow overnight, bringing that city's April total to over 50 inches of snow-- their snowiest on record. Closer to the Twin Cities, areas south and southeast of the metro saw some of the heavier amounts with Northfield coming in at 6.5 inches, Lakeville at 5.5 inches, and Chanhassen with 4.3 inches.

As impressive is the amount of water we've seen this month (snow, or rain) the liquid equivalent precipitation is now up to 5.10 inches, making April the 8th wettest on record too.

We all know how cold it's been this month; so far we're running at the fourth coldest April, but that will likely change with some warm spring weather finally coming. Our first 60s and 70s are coming Friday and into the weekend!
