Guilt and shame can be powerful emotions.
Both seemed at play recently when the person who stole a bike from a member of the Reedit online community returned the two wheeler, along with a hilarious and soul-baring apology note and a coupon, to boot.
The story came to light when the owner of the recently stolen bicycle posted a photo of the bike thief's priceless apology, explaining: "3 nights ago my bike was stolen. It just turned up back in my yard this morning with this note... Ain't even mad."
In the rambling apology, the thief explained that she had gotten extremely intoxicated and had no money to take a bus or cab, so she cobbed the bike instead.
She not only returned the bike and rendered the apology, but the thief also included a coupon for a free lava cake from Domino's Pizza.
One problem: to get the free cake, the bicycle owner would have to purchase a pizza first.
