WAUSAU, Wis. - The inmate accused in a brutal northeastern Wisconsin jailhouse attack that left a deputy in a coma will stand trial.
Twenty-year-old Fredrick Morris appeared in a Marathon County courtroom Wednesday under heavy security and waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
The Wausau Daily Herald Media says more than a dozen law enforcement officers were in courtroom for Morris' appearance.
Morris is accused of attacking two corrections officers at the Marathon County Jjail March 27. One of those deputies remains in the intensive care unit at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
