ST. PAUL, Minn. - The parents of missing St. Paul woman Kira Trevino are speaking out, as St. Paul police announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to the discovery of Trevino's body.
Jay and Marcie Steger spoke Friday, and thanked people who have searched for Kira's body, and they asked people to keep searching.
Kira's husband Jeff Trevino is charged in her murder, even though Kira's body has not been found. The trial is scheduled to begin May 28.
"We appreciate thoughts and prayers, but without our daughters, without Kira home and not knowing where she is, I can go home tell myself for 30 seconds I don't have any control over this," said Marcie Steger. "30 seconds; that's it. After that it's right back to non-stop of thinking of where she could be, wishing she was home."
Marcie Steger says she has talked with the parents of Danielle Jelinek, who went missing December 2012.
Steger also says she knows what the family of missing Eden Prairie woman Mandy Matula is going through. The 24-year-old was last seen Wednesday. Matula's ex-boyfriend is considered a person of interest, but can't communicate with police after shooting himself Thursday.
