EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Family and friends joined the search for 24-year-old Mandy Matula Friday evening. But there is still no sign of the Eden Prairie woman who went missing two days ago.

Dozens of people showed up to Miller Park where police believe she was last seen with 24-year-old David Roe Wednesday evening or possibly early Thursday morning.

"I could not have asked for anything more. This is a lot for you guys to do. So I really appreciate you guys coming out here," said Matula's brother, Steve Matula, who spoke to the crowd.

They searched several parks, trails and wood areas in the area hoping to find any clues of Matula.

"We just want to bring her home. That's why we're here. We're just antsy," said Sonia Roby, a friend and former softball teammate of Matula's.

She and several other friends who played softball with Matula at the University of Minnesota-Duluth two years ago joined in the search.

"We don't know what to say to each other. We don't know how to cope with this. It's uncharted territory," she said.

Eden Prairie police scoured the area Friday as well, including at Edenvale Park and the area around Round Lake. A spokesperson said officers were acting on tips they've received.

Roe's condition is still unknown after he allegedly shot himself in the head after police summoned him to the police station to talk about the whereabouts of Matula. He was rushed to HCMC.

Police say the two used to date but the relationship ended recently.

"We're kind of running out of time. I think these next couple days are most important. We need something to show up here," said Whitney Olson, Matula's friend and former UMD teammate.

But family and friends tell KARE 11 they are not giving up until they find her.

"We still have hope for her. That's why we're here to do something about it," said Roby.
