SYDNEY, Australia - Chili is awesome on top of a hot dog.
Turns out, it also can be handy for foiling robberies.
A quick thinking employee in Sydney, Australia was on duty recently when a man walked into her restaurant and ordered some food. He later got into an argument over the bill, walked behind the counter and tried to open the cash register.
He attacked 27-year-old That's when Joanna Tarnoski in the process.
Tarnoski, looking for anything nearby to protect herself, grabbed a container full of hot chili and threw it in the robber's face.
"I didn't think twice," Tarnoski explained, "I just wanted to protect myself. I threw all the chili on his face here and then he got crazy because of that."
"He screamed, lots of screaming, lots of bad language and at that time we are lucky the police arrived," added a customer who was in the restaurant at the time of the attack.
The man was arrested on the scene, and also treated for burns to his face.
