YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. - Yosemite National Park officials are bringing in two more dog teams to help search for a missing hiker whose last known destination was a waterfall where three young people were swept to their deaths two years ago.
Three dog teams will be trying to find a scent for 73-year-old Kenneth Stensby of Edine, Minn. on the Mist Trail, which leads to Vernal Fall.
Searchers found a day pack belonging to Stensby at the top of the fall near a guard railing on Sunday. His camera was not in the pack.
Park officials say Stensby, a veteran hiker, left a note that day with the concierge at the Ahwahnee Hotel saying he expected to be back by noon. When he wasn't back by 5 p.m., hotel officials called authorities.
