YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. - The body of missing hiker Kenneth Stensby has been found in Yosemite National Park.

Park officials said that Stensby died after falling from near the top of a waterfall. The 73-year-old's body was found at the base of Vernal Fall at about 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

Three dog teams were brought in earlier on Tuesday in hopes of tracking Stensby's scent.

Searchers found a day pack belonging to Stensby at the top of the fall near a guard railing on Sunday. His camera was not in the pack.

Park officials say Stensby, a veteran hiker, left a note that day with the concierge at the Ahwahnee Hotel saying he expected to be back by noon. When he wasn't back by 5 p.m., hotel officials called authorities.
