MINNETONKA, Minn. - The fishing poles are ready for Saturday's fishing opener in Minnesota, but so are the parkas with brisk temps and gusting winds predicted.
Anglers in the northern part of the state may be forced to make alternative plans, with ice still on several lakes. Adam Block with the Minnesota DNR says this could mean more trafffic on Metro lakes. "There's a percentage of folks that typically travel north to their favorite fishing spot that aren't going to be able to do that and I anticipate they're going to stay local," Block says.
KARE 11's Bryan Piatt has more from Lake Minnetonka to get you set for the fishing opener and talks with Doug Warren of Lake Minnetonka Fishing Guide Service.
