GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Green Bay Packers' renovations at Lambeau Field have created a need for more than 400 additional concession workers.
The remodeling project at the stadium's south end zone includes nearly 30 new concession stands. The Packers say that while new hires can make $12 to $18 an hour, the additional stands also create an opportunity for about 50 non-profit organizations and their volunteers. They can keep 5 to 10 percent of their sales.
Delaware North Companies Sportservice general manager Charlie Millerwise tells WLUK-TV (http://bit.ly/11pQsCy ) the goal is to get fresh food over the counter fast. From popcorn to soft drinks to pizza, Millerwise hopes the state-of-the-art snack stands will attract workers. He says they are designed to be user-friendly.
The Packers expect the renovations to be complete by the team's Family Night scrimmage in August.
