MAPLE GROVE, Minn. - A Maple Grove homeowner is credited for helping police catch the person who robbed his neighbor's home on Wednesday morning.

"I was trying to justify, maybe they're lost or wrong neighborhood or some cousin from another state looking for somebody, but it definitely didn't look right and I didn't take my eye off," said Grant Holbus.

Holbus called 911 and stayed on the line with police dispatchers, describing the situation as it was happening.

"There's no doubt they would have gotten away if Grant didn't call us. He was the only person that called us and because of his call we were able to catch them," said Capt. Keith Terlinden, of the Maple Grove Police Department.

As police pulled up to the home just before 11 a.m., the suspects fled in their vehicle and refused to stop.

A chase ensued that went through Dayton, Rogers, Champlin, Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center and ended at 48th and Aldrich in Minneapolis, when a police pit maneuver deflated a tire and caused the driver to stop.

Police said three people were arrested. Police said they believe they are linked to other crimes in the area.
