ANOKA, Minn. - The legal situation continues to get worse for a former Minneapolis Police officer accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl he met online.

Prosecutors in Anoka County have filed six new criminal counts against 32-year-old Bradley Schnickel, accusing him of trying to coerce seven additional juveniles into having sex with him.

The charges come after investigators poured through the files of Schnickel's computer, confiscated after the Andover man was charged in February with six felony counts ranging from having sex with a child to solicitation of children to engage in sexual conduct.

In the new criminal complaint, filed in April, investigators detail how Schnickel allegedly met the underage girls online and chatted with them on his Facebook page. The victims told police that the defendant called himself Brady and would steer the chats towards lewd and sexual subjects. Most said he would ask if he could pick them up from school or meet them somewhere, and promised to buy some of them alcohol in exchange for sexual acts.

One of the girls, a 16-year-old, told detectives she performed oral sex on Schnickel after he bought her a bottle of rum.

Bradley Schnickel is scheduled to appear in court Thursday in connection with both the original and new charges.
