BIG LAKE TOWNSHIP, Minn. - Three people were hospitalized following a crash involving a passenger vehicle and a school bus in Sherburne County Thursday.

The accident occurred at 2:30 p.m. in the 21300 block of County Road 5 in Big Lake Township. The driver of the bus, which was carrying 30 passengers, had stopped to unload passengers when the bus was struck from behind by a passenger vehicle driven by a juvenile male. After hitting the bus the teen's vehicle careened  into the ditch where it struck a tree.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital where his condition is unknown. The bus driver, 45-year-old Rachelle Bayer of Big Lake, and a student on the bus were taken to a hospital in Monticello to be treated for minor injuries.

Investigators are reconstructing the crash scene to determine if charges should be filed.
