MINNEAPOLIS - A man is being held in the Hennepin County jail, facing a laundry list of criminal charges after leading State Troopers on a high speed chase down a busy interstate Sunday night.
Minnesota State Patrol spokesman Eric Roeske tells KARE 11 that just before 10:30 p.m. dispatchers received reports about a vehicle southbound on Interstate 35W swerving across all lanes as well as the shoulder and nearly striking several vehicles.
A responding trooper stopped the suspect vehicle on the exit to 46th street, made contact with the driver and immediately observed indications of impairment from the driver.
Roeske says when the trooper asked the driver to exit the vehicle he instead sped off southbound on I-35W. Down the road a ways near 106th Street the suspect rear-ended another vehicle and was taken into custody.
He was booked into Hennepin County jail for fleeing an officer and suspicion of DWI.
