WHITEHALL, Wis. - High winds and heavy rain have stuck parts of western Wisconsin, knocking down trees and interrupting power.
The Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department says the winds struck about 4 p.m. Wednesday. A pole shed was reported down between Blair and Whitehall along U.S. Highway 53.
Most municipalities in the county sounded their storm sirens. The sheriff's office says there were no reports of anyone hurt.
The National Weather Service says 1.9 inches of rain fell in an hour a mile west of Eau Claire, causing minor street flooding and ponding in fields.
Trees also were reported down in Fairchild and five miles south of Eau Claire.
