GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Today, the community of Newton, CT is marking the 6-month anniversary of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School that took the lives of 26 victims.
Several family members of the victims are gathering for a day of remembrance and a call to action.
This morning, Jillian and Carlee Soto, sisters of murdered teacher Victoria Soto, joined KARE 11 Sunrise via satellite to remember their sister and talk about a new initiative - "No More Names: National Drive to Reduce Gun Violence" tour.
The tour will travel to 25 states, including Minnesota, to rally in support of gun violence prevention efforts and to urge representatives in Washington to support background checks that will reduce gun violence.
