EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - Authorities are trying to determine whether the body pulled from the Chippewa River near the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Monday is that of a missing Minnesota man.

Crews from the Eau Claire Fire Department recovered the body just downstream of the Short Street Bridge after someone spotted it Monday evening.

At this point the body has not been identified but there is speculation it could be 20-year-old David Patrick Rodgers of Northfield, Minnesota. The UW-Eau Claire went missing in April.

At the time campus police said Rodgers disappeared from his dorm room and matched the description of the person witnesses saw falling into the river from the campus footbridge.

The search for Rodgers ended without crews being able to find him.
